Position Overview

RGA HK is looking for a data-focused professional with an analytical mindset to join our team as a Contract Business Administration Analyst.

The department is responsible for the end-to-end processing of Life and Living Benefits treaties and the corresponding client data.

As one of the vital members of the team, the Analyst will be responsible for managing data for use in reinsurance operations and regular reporting, as well as enhancing the corresponding work flows and processes.

A successful candidate will acquire solid knowledge on insurance and reinsurance operations and will be able to apply his / her knowledge in allowing for a smooth processing of internal and external data associated with the reinsurance treaties and reinsurance administration.

Besides, he or she will be able to contribute to the team building spirit within the organization and function as an active participant in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage data using the RGA administration systems, databases and other tools;
  • Organize, transform, combine and aggregate of data from various internal and external sources, for structured or semi-structured data in different sizes;
  • Extract, transform, load and analyze data in various formats to fulfil requests such as production of management reports, data transfer into systems and ad-hoc data analysis;
  • Evaluate data quality from difference sources and drill down to the root cause of any unexpected results;
  • Enhance existing work flows and automate processes to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness in data management;
  • Communicate with various data providers and users to align interpretation of input data and requirements of output data or information;
  • Develop and maintain controls and tools that enable the team to operate efficiently.
  • Requirements

  • University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Insurance or other related disciplines;
  • 0-3 years’ work experience, preferably in life insurance / reinsurance or financial industry;
  • Knowledge in programming (e.g. Python, VBA) and database languages (SQL) preferred; Knowledge in JSON is a plus;
  • Previous hands-on experience in processing structured or semi-structured data, process automation or management reporting preferred;
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel preferred; Knowledge in Power Query is a plus;
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Good logical thinking and attention to details;
  • Excellent communication skills, both in technical and non-technical terms;
  • Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritize tasks;
  • A positive attitude to dealing with people, shares openly and willingly, demonstrates cooperation and flexibility.
