The Operations Director is accountable for the merchandising and supply chain functions of the maison. The position holder will perform sales estimation and analysis for the market of HK & Macau and plan, develop, execute the merchandising and allocation strategies for all product categories in retail, wholesale and travel retail operations.

The Operations Director is based in Hong Kong and reports to the Managing Director of the market.


  • Collaborate and negotiate with headquarter on planning, controlling and executing each year’s budget, merchandising strategy and product mix selection in order to achieve the business objectives
  • Establish balanced product assortment that will drive sales while supporting the maison’s vision
  • Perform pricing activities for all categories of our products, includes limited edition items
  • Keep abreast of competitors’ activities, consumer trends and buying pattern and recommend change to policy where relevant
  • Provide feedback on product performance and quality issues of products to HQ
  • Analyze sales forecast and relevant analytical reports, followed by proposed action plans for the markets
  • Allocation Management

  • Drive and execute the strategic initiatives, policies and process in alignment with the company business goals and holding responsibilities for logistics P&L to prioritize and optimize overall resources and spending
  • Liaise with HQ for the delivery schedule to ensure products deliver in a timely manner
  • Ensure inventory is available and sufficient while inventory level is within budget and optimal in each product category
  • Manage the vendor on warehouse and products delivery management
  • Sales Support

  • Lead the team to provide order processing, stock inquiry, price verification, product information, defective products handling and product & logistics related services to related parties
  • Communicate with HQ on the request and allocation of limited edition products to customers
  • Partner with different departments on novelties ordering and distribution
  • Work closely with Retail Operations, Wholesales and Travel Retail team for general order enquiries, stock replenishment, boutique transfers and promotional activities / events
  • Others

  • Work closely with HR on consignment products arrangement
  • Support the implementation on SAP system
  • Partner with Wholesales team to organise different special staff sales activities
  • Perform other ad-hoc projects as assigned
  • Requirements

  • Degree in merchandising, logistics, supply chain or any other relevant discipline
  • Strong retail background with a minimum of 10 years’ in retail chain operations with supervisory experience
  • Business acumen and sensitive to figures
  • Strong analytical skills, details oriented and positive work attitude
  • Strong negotiation skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills and able to work independently
  • Hands on SAP knowledge is a must
  • Excellent command of Mandarin and English
  • Candidate with less experience can be considered as Senior Manager or Associate Director
