  • Applicants should (i) have a Bachelor's degree or above in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Medical Sciences or a related discipline;
  • ii) have at least two years' worth of research experience, preferably in one or more related musculoskeletal biology tissue engineering, biomaterial development, and material fabrication techniques;
  • iii) be proactive - willing to learn new things, well organised, cooperative and responsible; (iv) be able to work independently;
  • and (v) have good communication skills in English. Applicants with a Bachelor's degree but without relevant working experience are welcome to apply and may be considered for appointment as Junior Research Assistant.

  • Duties include but are not limited to (a) performing musculoskeletal research to develop new implants for rotator cuff repair (75% of the time);
  • b) ordering and maintenance of Laboratory equipment and supplies (15%); and (c) any other duties as assigned by the supervisor as appropriate (10%).

    Training in musculoskeletal research as well as biomaterial development and testing will be provided to complement skillsets as necessary.

    Candidates can also expect to receive mentoring as well as opportunities for self-development and training that aid in achieving their career goals and aspirations.

    Appointments will be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
