Role description and opportunities

The Head of Communications, APAC will oversee internal communications and media relations for BNY Mellon in the Asia Pacific region.

The position is based in Hong Kong or Singapore, and reports directly to the Chief Communications Officer, based in New York.

This role will work alongside the company’s Regional COO and Chair, and drive communications in support of activities around the region, as well as help drive internal engagement.

We are looking for a senior communications leader to oversee internal and external communications in the APAC Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for building our communications strategy across BNY Mellon’s key internal and external stakeholders.

This leader is someone who brings relationships with media and opinion leaders and has a proven track record of executing high-profile, creative campaigns and handling corporate issues and public affairs matters.

This is a hands-on role with significant day-to-day responsibilities and an opportunity to grow a communications practice in one of our most important regions.

Key responsibilities include the following :

  • Establish integrated communications plan that supports regional and enterprise priorities
  • Build communications strategies to support accelerated growth priorities
  • Elevate reputation of company and executives in the region across all audiences
  • Build and support employee engagement and corporate culture
  • Accountability for comms staff and senior stakeholders
  • A successful candidate should ideally have these qualifications

  • 12-15+ years of professional experience in communications and public relations
  • Experience working with financial services, or other large corporate, and mass media including a track record of developing campaigns that have achieved their goals.
  • Excellent communications and decision-making skills, as well as proven success managing agencies and multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-starter with a desire to expand our communications efforts across the region
  • Experience in partnering across large, highly collaborative internal teams
  • Fluency across social media channels
  • Strong writing and editing skills are a must.
  • Proven track record as a manager
