The senior internal controls / compliance analyst will sit in the first line of defense under the Employee Health and Benefits ( EH&B ) business to provide support for monitoring and measuring our businesses policies and procedures.
As an individual contributor, this person is responsible for increasing the operational efficiency and effectiveness of our internal controls and client onboarding process, detecting and eliminating risks and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
In addition, the role may involve updating and improving our internal control system by administering internal communication to ensure that staff have an understanding of all internal control guidelines and standards.

The person will sit in the first line of defense as the navigator of the internal controls framework.
Conduct client due diligence and involve proactively in the client onboarding for EH&B business.
Handle licensing applications and manage regulatory filing and notification.
Arrange Continuing Professional Development ( CPD ) trainings for licensed employees to ensure they can meet the training hours as part of their licensing condition.
Guide the business with the operational practices of compliance and the way it operates within a business.
Ensure EH&B business and operation is compliant in relation to regulations from Insurance Authority.
Work as an integrated resource for the EH&B business and work closely with the Legal and Compliance team.
Work with Mercer’s business units and Legal and Compliance team to implement corrective actions for relevant compliance related issues.
Oversight of all internal controls and contracts set in place to allow the business to be comply with regulations from Insurance Authority and governing bodies.
A good communicator that can bridge the gap with Legal and Compliance team and the brokers of EH&B business to ensure Mercer’s Brokers are operating within the controls framework.
What you need to have :
Knowledge of insurance licensing regimes and regulations in Hong Kong (IA) is preferred.
Experience operating a standard process on a day-to-day basis and understanding of controls to minimize operational issues.
Ability to build strong relationships with employees in different business units and with members of Legal and Compliance team.
Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
Strong analytical and communication skill.
Preferred with experience in similar role.
