Assistant Accountant (Asia)

We are recruiting an Assistant Accountant who will be responsible for owning and completing accounts payable cycle efficiently, accurately and independently with minimal supervision.
He / she will also prepare month-end closing journals and schedules, account reconciliations and continually identify areas for process improvement.
How you will contribute :
Scan and process T&E reimbursements and vendor invoice payments efficiently and accurately in the PeopleSoft Financials system
Set-up new vendors (contributors, employees, and suppliers) and to ensure that proper authorisation is in place
Ensure that company policies and guidelines are adhered and escalate where appropriate
Review current process and implement changes to improve efficiency
Handle inquiries internally and externally
Perform weekly intercompany bank account transfers
Prepare month-end accrual journals
Follow month-end schedules timely and accurately with follow up actions to clear any unreconciled / outstanding items
Take up ad-hoc projects as required
Experience, skills and professional attributes
The ideal skills for this role are :
LCCI Higher Level / holder of Diploma in Accounting
At least 1 year relevant accounting experience in commercial firms, preferably in sizable MNCs
Experience in Accounts Payable and foreign VAT invoices is an advantage
Excellent communication skills
Ability of being independent, responsible, flexible, dedicated, mature and proactive
Proficiency in verbal and written English and Chinese
Experience in ERP system, preferably in PeopleSoft
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Immediate available is preferred
