We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Software Engineering Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Establish and develop the engineering teams into a highly capable engineering POD(s)
  • Lead and drive high maturity of Agile to meet the business aspiration, adopting Scrum, DevOps and SAFE as well as the 'HSBC way working'
  • Assist business owner, product owner, and liaise wider teams to drive innovative IT solution, strategic architecture, roadmap definition, code standards, and requirements gathering
  • Review and monitor the progress of the projects to ensure adherence to the agreed timeline / budget, conducting regular meetings with all teams / customers to ensure risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions are validated and addressed in a timely fashion
  • Implement Performance Management Plan as per organization standards. Mentor / Coach people to become high performing teams.
  • Identify and groom talent and have a career plan for team members. Succession planning. Job rotation. Identify training (technical / soft / domain) needs considering current and future.

    Manage attrition. Competency building

  • Provide expert consultancy to customers, and project status updates to management and customer. Influence stakeholder to ensure successful project delivery
  • Maintain HSBC Internal Control Standards including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by internal and external regulators
  • Requirements

  • In depth experience to lead and manage agile and cross function delivery teams
  • Extensive experience in leading software development on wealth solutions of various sizes, through the full project lifecycle including detailed system design / software lifecycle with multiple teams, vendors and stakeholders involved
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written format and an ability to interact professionally with an array of business users
  • Solid technical experience on open platforms technologies (e.g. Java, PostgreSQL, REACT framework, API). Familiar with Agile, DevOp and CI / CD tools such as Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, Git
  • Technical expertise acquired through delivering Cloud technologies (GCP, AL iCloud, AWS and / or Azure) into a large enterprise
  • Be passionate about new technology and adopt new ideas to innovate the teams
  • Demonstrable ability to mentor, develop talent and motivate staff to reach their optimum performance levels and career development
  • Having Pension Administration domain knowledge is an advantage
