The appointee will join the Faculty of Social Science (https : / / www.ln.edu.hk / socsc / ) and will be expected to assist development of a child counsellor training programme, develop and teach courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, publish high-quality research, apply for competitive external funding, engage in administrative duties, provide leadership and mentorship roles, as well as participate in academic and professional activities.
Candidates should have a PhD degree in the relevant discipline, a distinguished record of publications in leading journals and academic achievements, and experience in academic administration.

For this Professor position, candidates are expected to demonstrate evidence of international standing and leadership role in the field in areas of impactful research, publications and / or external grants.
Previous experience in academic programme administration and management is essential. Leadership at the departmental level in the form of providing supervision and mentorship for other colleagues, and the qualification to practise as educational / school psychologist are preferred.
The appointee is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and services to the Department, the University community, and to engage actively in quality research and publication.
The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Appointment will normally be made on an initial contract of three years, which, subject to review and mutual agreement, may normally lead to longer-term appointment with possibility of consideration for substantiation.
