IT Transformation & Core Systems Lead

Solution Delivery

  • Coordinate with Release Management to plan systems deployment to production.
  • Manage a group of application specialists and consultants to perform application analysis, design, development (where applicable) and quality assurance activities of all IT projects assigned.
  • Manage and engage the vendors to build, integrate and deliver RLS.
  • Monitor daily activities to ensure application solutions meet AXA’s policies, standards and quality requirement.
  • Project Management

  • Manage projects throughout the delivery life cycle aim at controlling the scope, schedule and cost for IT projects.
  • People Management

  • Develop and manage the performance of the team to ensure knowledge retention for key platforms via proper resource planning and backup.
  • Drive capability development of the team to build specialization in their responsible application domain area.
  • Vendor Management

  • Facilitate discussions and help vendors understand business requirements and improve vendor performance.
  • Review and approve deliverables to ensure quality assurance.
  • Oversee the delivery of trainings and knowledge transfer to the production support teams to ensure necessary knowledge is transferred.
  • Manage vendor resources to ensure a right mix of external vendors to support multiple IT projects running in parallel, achieve utilization goal and on / offshore work ratio target.
  • Define, monitor and track overall vendor and project performance against SLA and KPIs to ensure value achievement.
  • Planning and Budgeting

  • With strong business acumen, negotiate and liaise with business divisions to define project scope and planning during project initiation phases with clarity on business objectives and outcomes.
  • Define the project timeline for the implementation approaches.
  • Monitor the project costs against the budget.
  • Business Advisory

  • Help customers fully understand the value of the applications to the business. Provide inputs to business proposals to ensure technical contents are covered correctly.
  • Solution Architecture

  • Review, challenge and contribute to the Solution Architect's proposed solution architecture to ensure the architecture meets the demand of applications.
  • Your Profile

    Experience and qualifications :

  • University degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in IT solution delivery, with at least 5 years’ experience in the insurance / financial services field.
  • Skills

  • Experience in managing teams of technical professionals to evaluate solution on technical suitability, especially implementation and future maintenance, according to business requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of Insurance solution delivery
  • In-depth formal system development experience, preferably in AS400 RPGILE system development, Individual Life products, operations, finance and actuarial functional knowledge.
  • Solid experience in large scale project delivery involving multiple teams, applications from both AS400 and non-AS400 platforms, and transition of the application implementation and maintenance to Delivery Centre / Vendor.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Working experience in Asia countries, with understandings of the country characteristics, cultures and work style, is an advantage
