    As a fast-expanding organisation, Carousell is looking for a People Business Partner for our Hong Kong office. This role will report to the head of Business Partner.

    You will :

  • Work as a strategic People Business Partner to the Business Leaders and people managers under the assigned functions / departments.
  • Integrate and apply knowledge of HR and the stakeholders’ business to contribute to the organisation’s bottom line.
  • Involve and work in a wide-variety of business related activities, focusing on enhancing organisational performance, developing a competent and committed workforce and building organisational capabilities that directly impact business strategies.
  • Serve as a member of strategic and operational business teams and act as liaison to the People Team Center of Expertise (COE) groups and broker services.
  • Provide advisory on the Hong Kong market in terms of understanding the talent landscape, employment laws, rewards and HR best practices.
  • Accountable for the delivery of People services to the assigned client base, whether provided directly or brokered through the People Team COEs and People Support Services.

    Talent Management

  • Engaging with the leadership team in identifying staffing requirements based on business needs
  • Provide good employee experience and manage all stages of the employee life cycle from onboarding to exit
  • Partnering with the leadership team in identifying talents, succession planning and creating development plans
  • Ensuring a timely supply and complement of people with the desired competencies by coordinating with the Talent Acquisition Team and the leadership team / hiring managers
  • Participating in team meetings and providing insights on individual movements and developments
  • Performance Management & Compensation Administration

  • Facilitating the annual end to end performance management process
  • Collaborating and partnering with the Business Leaders and the Total Rewards Team in recommending promotion and salary increases for current employees to ensure internal equity within the organisation during the annual remuneration reviews
  • Organisation Development

  • Providing guidance to Business Leaders and people managers on interventions to use to ensure achievement of team goals
  • Providing formal and informal feedback to people managers regarding issues affecting individual’s or team’s performance
  • Partnering with people managers and employees in developing and implementing learning and development requirements for the team / function
  • Employee Relations

  • Handling requests, queries and complaints of employees and raising the same to managers and team members as needed
  • Handling of employee complaint, investigation, monitoring and resolution (and grievances) in partnership with the Group Ethics & Conduct Committee as appropriate
  • Clarifying HR Policies & exceptions as needed
  • Conducting exit chats
  • Generalist

  • Developing and recommending people programmes or interventions that are responsive to the overall development of assigned team accounts
  • Engaging with Business Leaders, people managers and employees in identifying and resolving issues affecting them
  • Ensuring proper and timely administration of people programmes and team account requirements by coordinating with the People Team Centers of Expertise (COE)
  • Acting as HR counsel and representing your assigned team during business planning, budgeting and metrics of the business
  • Ensuring timely cascade of people related communications to employees as applicable
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of regional legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance;
  • partner with the legal department as needed / required

  • Manage employee medical benefits programme and office insurance in Hong Kong
  • Partner with People Ops team to process monthly payroll and ensure accurate labour insurance and pension coverage
  • Workplace Experience

  • Drive the local office company-wide activities
  • Ensuring that the office is well-functioning and has a homelike environment; the office has to be fun, clean and conducive
  • Coordinating with the landlord on all office related issues and requests
  • Ensuring the local office inventory and supplies are adequate - masks, sanitisers, thermometers, stationery, etc.
  • You have :

  • 4-6 years of HR generalist experience
  • Diploma or Degree in HR, Business Administration or Management preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience in at least 3 or more of the following areas, particularly OD / L&D, C&B, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations and Coaching
  • Experience and solid understanding in working in a diverse and global organisation, leveraging on existing resources in delivering services
  • Good knowledge of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance
  • Able to deliver a good employee experience in Carousell
  • Highly adaptable, resourceful & creative
  • Able to organise and prioritise work effectively with minimal guidance
  • Ideally, data driven and analytical
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills, both oral and written
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese
  • A cheerful, positive, empathic and curious personality
