We currently have an opening for a Business Development Execuitve (6-month contract) position in our Hong Kong office.
Role or Job Responsibilities :
The core responsibilities of this role is to deliver effective Business Development services to the following practice areas below :
Antitrust and competition;
IP and IT;
Dispute Resolution (Litigation and Arbitration); and
General corporate / M&A
This role is positioned to support the BD Manager in the management of workflow, completion of work and the co-ordination of projects for allocated teams and clients.
Moreover, this role should work closely with the BD Manager and relevant partners to drive the continuous growth of the business, in line with the firm's strategy and global objectives.
Winning work
Work with BD Manager and fee earners on transactional and strategic bids; provide input on approach, team formations; draft, create, review and edit content;
manage document development where necessary ensure adherence to branding requirements; ensure adherence to pricing procedures
Ensure follow up is sought from client post pitch; track and act on actions which arise
Develop high quality materials for use in bids to convey Hong Kong positioning, experience and sales messages to clients and targets
Ensure, for consistent messaging and capability presentation, that this content is replicated in appropriate systems and all communications channels
Analyse win / lose rates and make recommendations as to how to improve performance
Coordinate with translation team on Chinese translation when needed, and able to spot errors
Event management
Take lead in the coordination of events such as client seminars / webinars, networking drinks and sponsored events for the practice groups as required
Prepare event budgets for BD manager and Partner review
Liaise with vendors and other relevant parties regarding logistical arrangements
Provide online and onsite support as needed
Directories / league tables / awards
Take lead in the drafting exercise of directory submissions (with BD manager)
Working alongside PR / Marcomms team to systematically measure performance in directories / league tables / awards; facilitate contribution to league tables and directories using consistent positioning messages
Ensure key practice activity is brand compliant and adopts our visual identity to deliver consistent materials to market
Business planning and implementation
Support the BD Manager in execution of business plans and campaign plans for the relevant practices
Working with the BD Manager and other MBD team members to ensure practice / office / regional objectives are met. This includes, but is not limited to, client development, profile raising, marketing and communications, pitching and event management
Where appropriate take a lead role in the management and execution of projects relevant to the MBD team
Client Development
Support the BD Manager in compilation of Client Development Plans for allocated client accounts
Share resources, tools and initiatives to help Partners and fee earners assess, maintain and enhance relationships and maximise opportunities with their clients, while enhancing the profitability of our engagements
Work in collaboration with other parts of business services in sourcing relevant information regarding clients and industry trends / activity when planning account / client management or targeting initiatives and activities
Provide client, competitor, industry and market research
Qualifications and Attributes
Undergraduate degree or above in marketing, law or business related discipline preferred.
1-2 years experience working in corporate marketing / communications preferably in international law firms or professional services firms.
Robust commercial sense, ability to think and act creatively, flexible mindset, and ability to work collaboratively across a multi-disciplined team in various jurisdictions.
Attention to detail, and displays the highest professional standards and meets expectations in quality of output .
Ability to multi-task and able to assimilate information quickly coordinate and keep stakeholders abreast of status.
Optimistic and resilient with the ability to cope with competing deadlines with line manager's guidance .
A committed team player with strong communication skills .
Has a positive attitude and a "can do" approach, shares knowledge and is willing to challenge how things are done in order to improve them .
Willing to take on additional responsibilities .
Excellent verbal, written and drafting skills in English and Chinese Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, InterAction, and Zoom
