IFRS17 Solution Workstream defines, designs and delivers the technology solution throughout the implementation of the new accounting standard, ensures the solution reflect the technical interpretation and comply with the IFRS17 Standard, and is responsible for the design of process & controls for the future IFRS17 reporting.
This role is mainly to managing the end-to-end solution development and testing from actuarial perspective, and ensure the functional design comply with the technical interpretations and fit for end-state operational requirements.
Job Descriptions :
Solution Functional Design : Lead the design and development to deliver the IFRS 17-compliant actuarial solutions for end-state reporting (e.
g. ETL tool); Provide sufficient technical challenges and review to ensure practicality and feasibility for the proposed solution design;
Implement the future Management Information (MI) reporting for better understanding of drivers of value
Process Enhancement & Implementation : Identify areas for enhancing the process, propose the corresponding enhancement and set out the specifications, if applicable;
Drive the improvement in the operational process leveraging the technology solution; Monitor the building, testing, parallel run and implementation of the process and control through supporting the related user specification of system design, UAT plan, testing results and related project deliverables.
Governance & Controls : Ensure proper processes, governance and controls are in place and comply with the programme governance and internal governance policies
Stakeholder Management : Collaborate with various stakeholders (e.g. RHO, IT, FIN team, other IFRS17 teams and consultants) to ensure that the required deliverables can meet the agreed project schedule;
Formulate project plan for team members to ensure timely delivery of tasks, escalating any potential show stoppers / resources issues whenever necessary.
People Management : Provide direction and technical supports to junior members of the team, regularly review their performance and provide constructive feedback.
Job Requirements :
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent
At least 9 years of relevant experience with minimal of 3 year at supervisory level, candidates with less working experience will be considered as Manager
Solid experience in life insurance industry, preferably with UK with-profits management, economic capital (e.g.
Solvency II) and financial reporting experience.
Possess in-depth knowledge to the IFRS 17 standard; Exposure to IFRS 17 project or analysis is essential.
Modeling experience with Prophet and stochastic modelling software (e.g. Prophet ALS) is a plus
Experience in project management, people management and coaching
A team player with good interpersonal skills, able to work independently and under pressure
Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
