Job Description
This is an Associate role located in Hong Kong, as a newly positon of AM Derivatives Middle Office. This candidate will be the Derivatives MO team and expected to be working in Partnership with Equity Middle Office closely and the Derivatives Product define end to end operating environment for Derivatives, and to design and drive comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements across AM.
The partnership with our Business colleagues is an imperative, as well as a trusted relationship with our Technology counterparts.
The candidate will work closely to give vision and direction to operational capabilities as a whole, while ensuring we are able to support the development of new businesses, products and markets in a controlled, agile and scalable way.
in addition to, the ability to communicate complex matters in a clear and concise manner is essential whether dealing with the FO or other support groups.
Job Responsibilities :
Define the end to end operating environment for Derivatives with a very strong risk and control mindset
Oversee the Investment Book of Record (IBOR) to ensure any securities and cash position discrepancies are identified and escalated to front office in a timely manner
Manage projects and initiatives, such as process movement, business model changes, system implementation, new product or new market rollouts, and other ad hoc projects
Collaborate with various stakeholders (portfolio managers, trade implementation, dealing, business management, compliance, controls, risks, client service, operations, internal and external service providers) to deliver results
Partner with Client Onboarding Management teams to set up new products and design new operating models (if required)
Oversee India offshoring team and outsourced vendor and ensure performance and service levels are met
Keep informed of market and regulatory changes impacting the Derivatives and Equity business and ensure processes / controls are in place to support changes
Ensure that a highly robust 1st line control framework is put in place to avoid and mitigate trading and settlement risks
Requirements :
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Middle office / AM operational process
Minimum Bachelors Degree
Exceptional cross asset class expertise in the Derivatives market, with a strong understanding of the evolving market structure and regulatory environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good command of written and spoken English
A good team player, passionate, detail-minded and keen to develop career in asset management industry
Ability to communicate effectively with management, counterparties and external service providers
Ability to work under fast-paced environment
Excellent in excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
