Hong KongJob SummaryLead and participate the end-to-end SDLC with solution design, business requirement analysis, requires prioritization and team management for IT solutions in Data & Analytics including but limited to EDW, Big Data, Data Visualization, Advanced Analytics with AI / Machine Learning.

Work with the team to define and evaluate new technologies, application design, framework & standards to accomplish the company’s business objectives.

And implement it as a subject matter expert together with the team members.Support and maintain existing systems include problem resolving and streamline the process with the support teams.

Roles and ResponsibilitiesProject Management, Application Development and ImplementationProvides support, guidance and liaise with internal application team, offshore resources, Group Office, vendors and users for development on Data & Analytics solutionsManages offshore resources to overview project / product development in order to deliver successful system implementation on timeWorks with assigned business units and users to understand / review / integrate user requirements and to propose suitable solutionsActs as a liaison between internal users and IT in all aspects in system development.

Measures and monitors progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations.

Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks. Make adjustments as necessaryProvides continuous improvement for existing systems and streamlines software development process to control software integrityLeads small / medium-

sized projects with various parties, prepares and monitors project schedule with quality deliverablesOrganizes, plans, manages and monitors the activities in all project stages to ensures all requirements and milestones are metParticipates in quality management reviewsEnsures smooth production run of application systemsSystem Development and EnhancementPerforms system development and enhancement per requested by users and leaders in order to increase operational efficiency and streamline the business process to promote company’s competence.

Analyzes user requirements, their existing system work flows and proceduresConducts feasibility studies, solution design and evaluation, assists supervisor to liaise with different partiesAssists supervisor to prepare project documents e.

g. work schedules, test methodology and review test resultsConducts program coding, testing and prepares system documents that adhere both deadlines and procedures of workImplements IT solutions to meet user requirements and Company strategic directionsSystem Support and Technical AdvicesSupports and gives advice for all levels of users in order to deliver high quality IT services and ensures the smooth production run of application systems.

Ensures smooth production run of application systems and provides system supportAnalyzes technical issues and devises & provides cost effective solutionsHandles enquires and provides technical support to end usersProvides training to upgrade IT knowledge on business and applicationsConducts regular evaluation on new technologies and recommends to management in order to cater for new business needs and achieve the strategies of companyPeople Management and Other ResponsibilitiesIdentifying / recommending good performers and assessing their ability as potential successors for the responsible areaTrains staff for enhancing overall knowledge on business, applications and technical knowledgeEnsures deliverables and systems comply with all applicable standards and guidelinesPerforms other responsibilities and duties assigned by managers to meet business objectivesJob RequirementsEducation & ExperienceUniversity / College graduate in Computing / IT or related discipline.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years of experience at supervisory role leading team of development workStrong technical foundation and knowledge for Data Warehouse or Data Lake solutions on Insurance industry is preferableExperience on Big Data and Cloud solution implementation are preferableSpecific SkillSolid working experience in BI tool includes OBIEE, Qlik, Tableau and Power BI;
  • ETL tool includes ODI and Informatica; Data replication solution includes Sybase replication and Informatica CDC; Database system includes Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL and PostgreSQL.

    Experience on Big Data implementation in Hadoop, MS Azure HDInsight, AWS EMR, Hortonworks platforms with technology like Python, Spark, NoSQL.
