The Strategic Event Marketing role based in Hong Kong will focus on strategic direction and content delivery of client events for Platform Sales (Securities Services, Prime Finance and Clearing, including Capital Advisory Group).

He / she will work with management and colleagues on all work related to events, such as developing strategic event marketing plans, content and protocol, leading project work streams, and creating ad hoc reporting.

In addition to managing his / her own events, the Strategic Event Marketer will lead and support other team members on larger events.

This role will support the business in efforts to increase client business / deepen existing client relationships, create and drive efficiencies for all internal partners and maintain brand standard in all events.

The successful candidate will be expected to partner with colleagues across other function including the wider Events team, Lines of Business, Compliance, Marketing & Communications team, sales teams, product partners, and senior management.

This role will report into the Head of Strategic Event Marketing, Platform Sales, APAC

Job responsibilities

  • Understand business strategy and target audience and work to ensure event strategy supports business goals across Platform Sales
  • Provide event marketing support for the Strategic Event Marketing team & internal stakeholders for proprietary and non-proprietary events
  • Partner with business stakeholders to help define, support, identify, evaluate and create content for event marketing opportunities that support the business agenda
  • Support end-to-end marketing events from planning, content development, time management, resourcing, budgeting, translation, onsite support, event measurement and reporting
  • Lead and manage low-touch client events and provide guidance where appropriate
  • Provide support across Platform Sales sponsorships as well as industry conferences and events, ensuring benefits are delivered, effectively leveraged and executed flawlessly
  • Organize, set up and provide onsite support to events and conferences in Asia Pacific
  • Develop strategic agenda and content for events. Oversee the development of event agendas with marketing and business including interaction with internal and external speakers and panelists, entertainment and venue research, audio visual requirements, briefing memos.
  • Work with Creative Services team to develop client communication materials such as invitations, speakers biography templates, nametags, place cards, menu cards, seating, and speaker introductions, etc

  • Implement event brief through research, budgets, approvals, dealing with vendors, invitation and post-event analysis
  • Manage and keep track of marketing and event budget as well as expense submissions with a view to cost efficiency and ensure invoices are processed in a timely manner
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and provide guidance to stakeholders where appropriate. Provide support on presentation slides consolidation and formatting
  • Build relationships with members of various marketing teams across regions to leverage expertise and content and share practices for greater efficiencies.
  • Manage the timely update of budget reports shared with stakeholders and wider Events and CIB communities.
  • Adhere to internal policy and the mandatory processes around strategic event marketing and corporate meetings and events including procedures with regards to budget approval, reporting activities and spend, compliance regulations, approval processes and ensuring appropriate documentation is in place
  • Develop partnerships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Requirements :

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related degree is preferred
  • Around 5 years of experience in marketing or event planning field in financial industry
  • Strong project management skills and ability / flexibility to confidently lead and manage an event on an end-to-end basis
  • Ability to build event marketing strategies that supports the on-going business growth priorities, manage and to stay within strict budget parameters
  • Confidence in being an ambassador to internal client management. Ability to interact, influence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across Lines of Businesses
  • Hands-on self starter who demonstrates initiative and proactively contributes ideas and solutions
  • Very strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, and flexible in approach
  • Strong team player with proven capability of reaching proposed targets and supporting team members with their events as necessary.
  • Positive attitude and works well in a fast paced dynamic team oriented environment

  • Candidate must be detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word & PowerPoint, and savvy with technology
  • Excellent English and Mandarin oral and written communication skills
