What will you be doing?
The Feature Writer will work closely with the Commissioning Editors, Copy Editors and Campaign Strategy and Delivery to pitch and write sponsored features that engage with audiences, and contribute to the sponsorship KPIs and wider CNN Digital audience development goals.
They will maintain CNN’s high journalistic standards by writing content that is balanced, fair, visual and engaging working within CNN’s established processes and editorial procedures.
This person will collaborate with sponsorship producers to write content from around the world, meeting regularly with Campaign Strategy and Delivery Analysts and Programmers to learn from audience insights.
Also, the Writer will be required to work with CNN’s on-air talent and producers to write multiplatform content (including TV scripts and digital articles) with information and media assets gathered from field assignments.
This position is based in Hong Kong and will collaborate with a cross-functional team in Atlanta, New York, London, and Abu Dhabi.
The candidate must be a self-starter and comfortable working on tight deadlines and be able to switch rapidly between projects in a fast-paced news environment.
This role requires solid experience in writing, editing and building digital stories in a CMS. They will have an interest in news and current affairs and have a passion for innovative digital storytelling.
They will also build image galleries and write captions.
The Features Writer will also review the written work of other writers and producers, providing a first-edit and advice before stories are filed to Copy Editors.
This position reports into the Commissioning Editor, they will also be supervised by a designated Copy Editor.
