The Global Content and Media Distribution function manage relationships with the NBA's television and digital media partners.
The group leads the distribution of NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, and USA Basketball games and programming content in more than 215 countries and territories.
The content is circulated in more than 40 different languages, reaching millions of households worldwide.
The Global Content and Distribution team also manages the NBA's websites and its premium SVOD service, International League Pass.
During these unprecedented times, the NBA is seeking an exceptional individual with data analytics skills, highly talented, and self-motivated to join the NBA's industry-leading Global Content and Media Distribution, division.
This position will play a key role in supporting initiatives across business insights, market research from analyzing company data.
The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities and will have the ability to solve problems independently and work cross-functionally under tight deadlines, all while maintaining a positive attitude in the face of evolving business challenges.
Being highly organized is a must for this role and the right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes
Major Responsibility :
Be the data expert and the source of insights and analysis for the Global Content and Media Distribution team and work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product packaging, marketing promotion campaigns and other business strategies
Generate database insights that help to launch impactful and effective marketing and user acquisition and retention programs and campaigns with relevant teams
Lead in the compilation of data and insights across multiple media business reporting sources and become the department expert to ensure cross-functional alignment with other teams including Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Content, external partners, and others as needed.
Must be comfortable presenting findings and analysis in front of groups
Become fluent with, and collaborate with others regarding all areas of the media business line, with an initial focus on NBA League Pass, the NBA's direct-to-consumer SVOD product
Understand marketplace trends, competitive offerings, new products / technologies, and consumer behavior to spot opportunities
Own the processes of agenda-setting, taking and distributing minutes, information gathering, and follow-ups for regular internal meetings and presentations that occur on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
Required Skills / Knowledge :
Minimum 2-3 years prior work experience, preferably with experience at a premiere media, technology or content company.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word applications
Demonstrated excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Ability to gather and analyze data from a variety of sources, draw conclusions and act on findings Experience with digital research products a plus (e.
g. Adobe Analytics, Tableau, DOMO, Google Analytics, comScore, etc)
Ability to work independently and follow the process with great detail and accuracy
Preference for experience in analyzing large amounts of data using one of these : SAS, Python, SQL
Bachelor's degree required
Preference for tertiary degree in Computer science, Econometrics, Mathematics, Operation Research, Statistics or related field
