Global Communications, designs and implements communications strategies which support HSBC's business objectives, in line with our values, and enhance and protect our reputation among key stakeholders.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Communications Manager, Personal Banking.

Principal Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for driving integrated communications for WPB’s Chief Operating Officer and Digital Transformation teams, in close collaboration with teams across WPB and Global Communications.
  • Develop and deliver communications strategies to position HSBC as a thought leader in digital banking and technology innovation, through strong external and internal content
  • Lead integrated communications projects to deliver commercial outcomes and culture changes, including the development of narratives, key messages, collateral, media engagement for spokespersons, planning, delivery and measurement
  • Strong relationship management skills, ability to positively influence outcomes and drive change
  • Position HSBC as a leading Financial Services employer of digital talent across appropriate channels (e.g. raising the profile of digital team successes, awards, female digital and technology colleagues and non-FS’ ways of working)
  • Deliver firm-wide employee communications to share relevant progress and engage colleagues with our digital transformation, through the lens of how we’re making HSBC simpler, better, faster for our customers and colleagues, safer and cheaper to run, and therefore more profitable for our investors
  • Measuring performance of content and using insight to drive strategy
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced and changing environment and achieve objectives
  • Strong writing skills for multiple channels and audiences
  • Proactively collaborate with network communications colleagues to ensure engagement and alignment with communications plans and outcomes.
  • Adopt agile team ways of working to ensure collaborative, outcomes-focused approach to delivering multiple global projects and campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the entire Global Communications function to ensure seamless delivery of priority programmes.
  • Contribute to the WPB communications community, enhancing functional skills and capabilities, deploying globally-consistent policies and resources and encouraging best practice and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop strong relationships with key champions, advocates and colleagues to facilitate execution of communication plans.
  • Ensure execution to world-class standards and share knowledge and best practice across the Communications network.
  • Keep up-to-date with latest communications research, techniques and approaches, and network externally with peers.
  • Support, coach and develop communications practitioners to deliver consistent and high quality communications in line with strategic goals.

  • Requirements

  • Demonstrated capability in delivering communications strategies to build and improve an organisation’s external reputation in digital and technology innovation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work confidently and effectively with senior executives across regional / global geographies, and in an environment of significant change
  • Ability to understand business issues and devise communication solutions that deliver results, constructing fresh approaches where appropriate and making connections to other issues.
  • Able to work within an ambiguous environment, prioritise and reconcile competing demands and resolve complex issues.
  • A proven track record in developing, managing and implementing communication plans, translating into solid and practical delivery programmes
  • A strong team player who can work collaboratively with peers and encourage / deliver excellent performance from teams and individuals
  • Ability to work quickly, managing time and multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal, strategic planning and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong knowledge of communication trends and best practice
  • Broad knowledge of financial services industry and global marketplace
