The purpose of this role is to provide foreign exchange (FX) coverage for BP2S clients from our Hong Kong Branch (HK), in co-ordination with the existing MFS FX Desks in New York, Sydney and Paris.
The objective the HK desk will be to manage the front office / trading for FX booking in Hong being comprising service existing clients and new business development for upon request FX execution for Asian based clients as well as allocated auto-FX activity for restricted Asian markets.
The Hong Kong Desk will also manage the hand-over of any orders from the end of day for the Sydney desk and in turn manage the hand-over of any order to with the Paris Desk.
As the role will be in the MFS Principal Dealing Room the incumbent may be trained to support other services that we offer on a Principal basis from Hong Kong including Equity Lending, STIR and Cash products.
The foreign exchange dealer will have responsibility for currencies or categories of :
Auto-fx execution including management of flows, netting, execution, pricing, and meeting market settlement deadlines
Upon request execution this will involve direct client contact on a daily basis and the execution of all clients’ necessary FX requirements (spot, forwards, swaps & NDF’s).
The candidate will be expected to cross train with all MFS Principal products
Numeric skills with attention to detail. The role will vary including trading, input / validation of orders, preparation of dealing sheets, reconciliation of orders, p&l
Ability to analyse data and processes and identify efficiency improvements, product or business development opportunities
Support projects, projects and IT or change management initiatives
Computer literacy including Excel, Bloomberg an advantage
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels and cultures both in regards to dealing and general communication with clients, peers, other BNP Paribas offices / entities and external clients
A decisive nature and ability to work under pressure in a team based but target driven environment
Background in foreign exchange or asset liability / treasury funding. These may be from direct dealing experience, research, forecasting or back office operations
Display an active awareness and appetite for the currency markets and financial markets
Assistance with the daily P&L
Assistance with market commentaries and analysis
Assistance with daily Treasury management coverage

Specific Qualifications (if required)
Engineer or business school, specialized in Finance / Banking
Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and / or Mandarin), French is an advantage
Exposure to treasury management, foreign exchange, collateral management, securities lending, trading, would be a plus
Flexible working hours which may include public holidays, covering other international desks or participation in late / early conference calls and meetings
Advanced Excel (filters, pivot tables, simple macros), strong Powerpoint and Word skills,
Pluses : Bloomberg, Reuters Eikon, MS Access, MS Project, Viso
