Applications are invited by the Hong Kong office of the Maples Group for the position of
Vice President Private Equity Operations
who will be responsible for leading onboarding, operational and system support relating to private equity clients. This includes supporting client service teams globally in the preparation and processing of transactions and financial reports, including facilitating closes, capital calls and distributions, exercising sound judgement regarding the proper application of accounting principles and internal policies and procedures to complex transactions, providing systems support to create efficient and effective operations, and providing end user training.
The Vice President ( ’VP’’) will be primarily responsible for Investran support and design of system set-up and reporting design across all Maples Fund Services offices.
He / she will liaise with global operational teams across multiple time zones and be accountable for the quality of the ongoing support to private equity client services professionals.
He / she will keep abreast of emerging industry trends and maintain regular contact with peers, both internal and external to the firm, including professional organisations (e.
g. other accounting and law firms). He / she will research and resolve accounting and reporting issues, and works closely with other global teams and Senior Management in carrying out activities that are complex and technically challenging.
He / she should be an advanced user of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, and Access). The VP Private Equity Operations should have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, exhibiting initiative, leadership and flexibility.
He / she is expected to demonstrate his / her understanding of the complexities of private equity gained via their past work experience.
He / she must have great attention to detail and superior analytical skills and problem solving. He / she will need to have excellent client service skills, and the ability to work with teams toward the timely and accurate production of client deliverables.
The successful candidate will have at least 10 years’ of experience in a private equity accounting role as well as an accounting and / or related business degree and / or CPA accreditation.
He / she will also have experience with market leading private equity fund accounting software, including Investran, a strong background in private equity accounting accounting, and a strong work ethic and sense of ownership.
