Finance Transformation The Global Finance Transformation initiative is a multi-year, multi-workstream transformation of Manulife’s Global Finance organization including people, processes, systems, and data.
Since inception in 2013, this initiative has helped generate significant efficiencies for our global Finance organization.
The WAM Finance in Transformation ( WAMFiT ) seeks to continue delivering on our Global Finance strategy and vision to realize and enable self-service, straight through processing, and automation to a target state and ultimately become a world-class global finance organization.
This initiative includes the objective to standardize, simplify, and automate our financial infrastructure and processes for our businesses and achieve the finance vision and target operating model.
Job Summary Reporting to the Regional Head of WAMFiT Finance Transformation in Asia, this position will provide significant contribution to the transformation of the Finance function for the GWAM teams across Asia.
The incumbent will play a critical role in helping the success of the workforce planning / target operating model workstream while also playing a key role in helping develop best-in-class reporting capabilities.
The manager will help in driving the success of the workstream by providing the necessary support, including performance of key work from strategy to execution.
The individual will perform, track, and coordinate project deliverables on time, budget, and with the planned benefits. The individual will work alongside the WAMFiT team, Asia Advisory and Analysis, Asia Finance & Planning, Global Finance teams, Chief Data Office, IT, and numerous transformation stakeholders to implement the required business improvements and support the global architecture to centralize, standardize, and enhance Finance processes to satisfy WAM Finance’s target operating model and vision requirements.
The incumbent will be a pivotal member of the WAMFiT team, performing a broad range of tasks and activities to support work transitions, model planning, and process improvements and automation initiatives, while building positive relationships across the GWAM Finance organization and other Manulife partners.
The manager will work closely with the director to support the WAMFiT teams in Asia working as a link with the Global WAMFiT team.

Preferably in a financial institution. University-qualified in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or Science. A professional certification / training in PMP / SCRUM / Agile / Operational Excellence along with some practical experience using one or more.
Data manipulation, experience with business intelligence / visualization tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Advance Excel is a must have for any one or combination of these skills.
Willingness to learn such skill will be supported by Manulife. Experience working within a matrix organization, to effectively collaborate, leverage and build relationship with individuals across multiple geographies and functions.
Project management / business analysis experience combined with impeccable verbal / written communication skills presenting and working with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences including senior executives.
Innovative thinker with the ability to negotiate, influence and challenge the status quo to continuously improve processes.
A self-starter with vision and creativity with the ability to influence others to drive results. g. data initiatives such as AUM and GL data projects; automation and digitization projects locally. Execute assigned improvement, data and finance projects, including analysis, requirements definition, and drive with our partners to design & build, conversion, testing and implementation with specific focus on rigorous management and reporting & analysis Work with different teams e.
g. Accounting & Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Advisory & Analysis, local country Finance teams and IT counterparts to Identify new process improvement project, standardization and brining new technologies and automation initiatives.
Execute process mapping exercise, knowledge of process mapping and brainstorming tools such as fishbone diagram, value stream mapping, what if analysis, etc.
