Fire services installation is a vital aspect of all building design processes. Using expert knowledge of the response of people and buildings to fire, our building environment teams facilitate architectural vision and address client needs, such as business continuity and property protection.
Into this busy team we are keen to recruit a skilled an ambitious individual to deliver existing projects in Hong Kong and further afield.
Ideally you will already have been working within a Fire Services Design Engineering environment for either a small or large consultancy in Hong Kong.
About the role...
Naturally the role of a Fire Services Engineer can be very varied but this role will ask you to :
Work with Senior and Associate Engineers to project manage small to medium fire services installation projects.
Develop your skills toward becoming lead fire services engineer on small to medium scale projects, assist with the development of fire strategies for large scale projects.
Inform and support the building design aspirations, functionality and architectural form throughout the design process
Become involved with client care and general consultancy on both small- and large-scale projects.
Represent BuroHappold at design team meetings, both internal and externally.
Build knowledge to be able to identify and specify appropriate fixed fire protection systems, i.e. automatic fire detection and / or suppression to support fire engineering design solutions.
More about you...
As an experienced Fire Services Engineer it is expected that you will be able to demonstrate :
Bachelor degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Solid engineering design experience and knowledge in fire services installation, preferably gained in consultancy practice
Strong experience in site coordination
Minimum 4 years of solid experiences in fire services design.
AutoCAD and BIM skills
Strong English and Cantonese skills are essential; Mandarin would be a bonus.
Excellent consultancy skills; Good communication and experience in dealing with difficult situations, negotiation and understanding the differing needs of our clients and within stakeholder groups.
Capability of working alone or as part of a larger team on multiple projects with other professional engineers, often not under their direct control.
Plumbing & Drainage engineering skills would be a bonus.
