Global Trade and Receivables Finance comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs.

Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia. We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Vice President Business Development .

Principal responsibilities

  • Drive Global Trade and Receivables Finance revenues from New to Bank and New to customers in Global Banking segment while understanding the risk profile of relevant products and clients
  • Develop new revenue streams by actively identifying new customers and presenting innovative solutions
  • Execute effective strategies for winning new clients in order to generate new income for the Group and identify new sales opportunities alongside Global Banking Relationship Managers
  • Maintain awareness of the applicable regulatory and business environment including changes that may affect customers and the Bank, and provide necessary guidance wherever required
  • Maintain and enhance the image of HSBC through the planning and execution of conferences, industry sector days, internal and external client road shows, active participation in industry associations and other relevant events
  • Play a role in establishing cultural and behavioural excellence and developing high engagement across the team
  • Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of trade finance and a proven sales record
  • Broad knowledge of our bank Group companies and product ranges as well as extensive knowledge of the market and market trends, competitive and regulatory environment
  • Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs through matching a broad range of products and services
  • Credit assessment skills, particularly with regard to more complex and structured facilities with an international dimension
  • Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to deliver creative and flexible customer solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to interact with business customers at all levels
