The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a world-renowned international research university. The Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China officially approved the preparatory status of HKUST(GZ) in September 2019.
The GZ campus covers 1.13 square kilometers and the first phase of construction is expected to be completed in 2022. At steady state, the number of undergraduate and postgraduate students will reach a total of 10,000.
The intended areas of focus in the GZ Campus will be thematic and cross-disciplinary in nature, synergistic with HKUST without overlapping academic degrees or structures.
There will be four Academic Hubs (equivalent to schools) with 16 Thrust Areas (equivalent to departments).
The University is looking for a capable individual with management experience in laboratory services to lead team members to deliver the successful execution and completion of new build laboratory and renovation projects, as well as the management of daily laboratory support and services.
Reporting to the Laboratory Services Senior Manager, the appointee will oversee and manage the planning, coordination and implementation of new installations and maintenance of laboratory furniture, mechanical and electrical services.
The appointee is also required to help define and uphold HKUST’s expected standards and quality of laboratory installations.
The appointee is expected to commence employment with a 6-month period of orientation and familiarization at HKUST’s Clear Water Bay Campus with the Laboratory Services team and will return to HKUST Guangzhou Campus upon completion.
This is a Mainland appointment, and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the Mainland labor laws and regulations.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
