The Senior Human Resources Officer (SHRO) for the Head of APAC is a direct report to Citi’s Global Head of Human Resources being responsible for all the HR functions and processes and will serve as a member of the HR Operating Committee (HROpCo).

Citi is looking to appoint an experienced HR professional, with extensive expertise across all HR functions, both strategic and operational, and with demonstrated success in running the HR function well with a business perspective.

The role involves working with stakeholders across all Citi businesses and the APAC region and partnering with corporate colleagues to provide insight into strategic initiatives.

The scope of this role encompasses the full spectrum of HR processes and functions. Among the broad list of accountabilities, the critical priorities for the role are :

  • To lead the restructuring of the HR organization in line with the global construct, building and developing the Human Resources team necessary to support the business
  • As Citi APAC undergoes organizational changes and strategic actions, develop and execute a proactive and integrated internal and external strategy that enhances Citi’s profile and reflects its business objectives and key business drivers
  • To ensure adequate succession within the HR function and in key leadership roles across the organization
  • To focus on culture transformation, organization & job design based on future state
  • Ability to manage talent management and building the leadership pipeline
  • Qualifications :

    The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15+ years HR experience with strong executive presence and ability to drive the Human Capital strategy across all levels of APAC.

    S / he will have the ability to build trusted relationships with peers and interact effectively with employees, Corporate and external partners at all levels and be a critical partner with the business in developing HR strategies for the Asia Pacific countries across sectors.

    Key competencies for the role include :

    Results Orientation : The individual will have shown the ability to deliver measurable, accurate and timely results that have a clear, positive impact on the organization.

    S / he must be able to run the function effectively and should be high energy, driven to get things done, and strong in operations.

  • Strategic Orientation : As an important member of the executive team, the successful candidate should be able to understand and engage on broader corporate / business objectives and translate them into a clear, focused and long term human resources strategy.
  • S / he should be a trusted advisor to the APAC CEO and the senior leadership team.

  • Collaboration and Influencing : S / he should be skilled at working with senior level executives, both inside and outside the organization, in a highly collaborative manner.
  • The individual should be able to rapidly gain respect and credibility based on his sound judgment, rigorous fact based analysis, courage to express his / her point of view and capacity to put his recommendations into action.

  • Team leadership : The ideal candidate will be accomplished at capability building and driving organizational and cultural change within the context of a well-established business.
  • S / he will have excellent leadership skills, as evidenced by a track record of hiring, retaining, developing and motivating top-tier talent.
