Scientific Officer

The appointee will be responsible for (a) research and development for advancing quality control and the modernisation of Chinese medicine;

b) preparing manuscripts and grant proposals; (c) laboratory management and supervision of research staff and postgraduate students;

d) compiling reports and financial planning; (e) organizing events; and (f) performing other tasks and taking up other projects as assigned.

Occasional traveling to Mainland China and other places might be necessary.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Biological Sciences; (ii) at least 1-year post-doctoral scientific research experience;

iii) a good command of English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua); (iv) good communication skills; and (v) a good publication record.

Experience in laboratory management or event organisation, and a deep understanding in quality control and / or Chinese materia medica will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for 1 year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
