The Chinese University of Hong Kong, an internationally ranked and top tier university in Asia, has recently established the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM), focused on neuromusculoskeletal medicine.
Research emphases will be on the following programmatic research areas :
The Institute is now inviting applications for Postdoctoral Fellow(s) / Research Associate(s). The Ker lab is seeking qualified candidates to participate in exciting musculoskeletal research with the goal of developing biomaterials that further our understanding of hard-soft tissue biology as well as biomedical devices for musculoskeletal repair.
ii) good research skills in either biomaterial development or biomaterial testing for musculoskeletal applications. Biomaterial development skills include polymer synthesis, NMR and FTIR spectroscopy, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, mechanical testing.
v) the ability to work independently; (vi) experience in laboratory management; and (vii) experience in drafting research proposals and academic papers.
Candidates who have substantial experience in biomaterials and musculoskeletal biology are preferred, especially if they possess research background in hedgehog signaling.
Training in biomaterial development and / or biomaterial testing will be provided to complement skillsets as necessary. Candidates can also expect to receive mentoring and training that aid them in achieving towards their career goals and aspirations.
Appointment will be made on contract basis for one year commencing December 2017 or as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
