Job summary

This position will be under the Employee Referral Program in Hong Kong


Working in the team based in Hong Kong and acting as a core contributor to local and regional communications initiatives on corporate and business topics, the person will assist Head of Communications for Asia-Pacific to develop internal and external communications strategies and execute relevant plans across the region.

The person will also work with the broader communications set-up within the Bank when carrying out the required duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement an integrated communications approach for a dedicated business line, covering external and internal channels
  • Develop and implement media relation strategies for the Bank with a focus on Hong Kong, act as the go-to person for media enquiries
  • Manage daily media alerts, develop press materials, interview pitches and organise press interviews / conferences
  • Identify the relevant industry awards / benchmarking exercises the Bank can pitch for to promote our key capabilities and coordinate the award / benchmarking pitching processes
  • Identify speaking and sponsorship opportunities
  • Lead organisation and implementation of internal and external events
  • Support other communications projects as and when required
  • Occasional travel may be required

    Candidate criteria

    Minimal education level

    Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

    Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Bachelor degree holder
  • Level of minimal experience


  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in the field of media relations or journalism, with solid understanding of the financial media landscape and strong connections with the international and trade media in Hong Kong
  • Sound business acumen in corporate and investment banking activities
  • Required skills

  • A self-starter who can work independently as well as collaboratively to contribute to team efforts
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Good project and event management capabilities
  • Be responsible and committed to team’s objectives
  • Able to work under pressure with tight deadline while maintaining good attention to details
  • Technical skills required

  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Chinese word-processing, Knowledge of design tools such as Photoshop would be an advantage
