Role Overview
The role of the Commercial Finance Business Manager is to work closely with the Regional Managing Director in orchestrating all aspects of financial deal making in the specialist Art departments in Asia, and globally where relevant.
The role is ideal for a collaborative individual who has strong work ethics and attention to detail. The interaction with numerous departments and the range of projects that ensue allow for a challenging, varied and multi-dimensional work environment.
Job Responsibilities
Build & maintain financial deal models for both internal and external clients
Analyse the profit implication and various risks inherent with the transaction
Provide recommendation of quantitative and qualitative aspects
Review and approve transactions by utilising understanding of the risk, profitability, client information and competitive landscape
Provide guidance to the specialist Art department for client presentations and negotiations
Contract review and negotiations working with in-house counsel
Perform due diligence and ensure completion of deal closing requirements
Build and maintain term sheets and lot by lot breakdown of the sale results for lots with financial deal
Collaborate with Finance Business Partners and Client Accounting on all aspects relating to financial deals incl. settlement and credit requirements
Maintain accurate reporting (deal runners, financial and client reports, legal documentation)
Provide support from commercial perspectives for private sales transactions
Provide assistance for Client Accounting on pre-sale checks and manage client account transactions during Auction Sale Season

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Business, Legal, or related field
At least three years’ experience at either an investment bank, consulting firm, or in a transactional role at another auction house
Demonstrates strong technical skills required for the role, pays attention to details, takes initiative to broaden his / her knowledge and demonstrates appropriate financial / analytical skills, including a strong knowledge of Excel
Successfully handles multiple tasks, takes initiative to improve his / her own performance, works intensely towards extremely challenging goals and persists in the face of obstacles or setbacks
Effectively handles difficult requests, builds trusting, long-term relationships with internal and external clients
Demonstrable track record of independent decision making and the ability to steer business negotiations
A strong commercial mindset with excellent problem solving skills
The willingness to work in a small team with capacity to work efficiently and effectively in high-pressure environment.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Well organised and able to efficiently manage projects with minimal supervision
Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
