Services Architect, ITO – Data Centre

A well-known Global ITO service provider which delivers solutions and services to the MNC, is now looking for a ITO Architect to join their team in Hong Kong.


  • Participate in strategic account planning for key clients and manages key client relationships.
  • Act as the service representative within internal and potential clients and develop strong working relationships with these clients.
  • Identify potential opportunities in new and existing clients and act as thought leader in the engagement with clients.
  • Act as the overall solutions lead for major IT Outsourcing opportunities and engage early in the solution definition phase.
  • Map the required services to existing standard operational services to create an IT Outsource solution for the client using approved cost models.
  • Work with the IT Outsourcing pursuit team to define a roadmap and milestones for client engagement, including the transition planning and service delivery team involvement.
  • Remain focused on understanding client’s requirements and then working with the other service architects, transition and service delivery teams to create proposals and services solutions that leverage company’s global footprint.
  • Design, scope, assess and deliver IT operations solutions that address the client’s business requirements and are within the Scope of Work as agreed to by the client and company
  • Help to drive internal efficiencies by developing standard tools and processes and enforcing usage thereof.
  • Participate in the review of service delivery during the implementation and deployment phase and ensure the relevant risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Remain up to date on best practice and IT Outsourcing trends and share this knowledge with team members.
  • Develop a profile as a technical leader in the Data Centre Outsourcing’s solution area.
  • Participate in differentiating company IT Outsourcing capability by taking a leading role in the development of new service offering by working with different Business and Service Units and Product Development teams.
  • Involved in developing new products and services by working with clients to understand their requirements and with the various Business and Service Units and product development and delivery teams to consolidate solution into proposals and of statements of work.
  • Requirements
  • Degree in Information Technology or Computer Engineering
  • Multi-disciplinary IT background, working as a pre-sales consultant or DC Operations Manager or IT Infrastructure Manager in a large infrastructure outsourcing environment
  • A good understanding of the vast range of IT operations and Outsourcing service offerings
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in or with IT Departments to obtain sufficient operational experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in outsourcing involved in a mixture of IT operations and / or Datacentre Operations or pre-sales for operational services
  • Proven client engagement and consulting experience
  • Good hands-on support and technical experience in the design and delivery of managed services for large scale ITO engagements
  • Experience working on Data Centre outsourcing opportunities and transformational outsourcing which includes moving the client environment into virtualised and / or cloud environments
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs
  • Knowledge of solutions capabilities and how the solution is designed to be integrated into the client environment
  • Sound financial skills for budgeting and pricing purposes coupled with an understanding of risk, financial and business models
  • Good understanding of relevant technologies and applications
  • A strong business and commercial orientation and with a supporting strategic thinking ability
  • A balanced Business and Technology savvy with a good understanding of relevant technologies and applications
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain solid stakeholder relationships
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Assertive in approach coupled with confidence in area of expertise
  • Strategic and creative thinking ability and knowledge of industry and technologies to generate sound decisions
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate and influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to construct innovative commercial models for transformational outsourcing engagements
