The postholder will be responsible for the academic programme in Property Making, teaching theoretical classes, conducting practical application workshops and tutorials, and supervising students during rehearsal and performing periods.
In addition to these responsibilities, the postholder will be expected to assist with curriculum planning and course development.
Required Qualifications :
a) A relevant MFA degree and / or professional training to an equivalent level.
b) Significant and proven professional experience in the postholder’s area of theatre specialism, especially in Props workshop management and leadership.
c) At least six years’ experience of teaching at tertiary level, preferably to Master’s level.
d) Fluency in spoken and written English. Chinese may be an advantage.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year contract, with possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement. A gratuity payment equal up to 15% of basic salary earned during the contract period will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract.
Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. Although subject to negotiation, the expected commencement date is mid-
August 2019. Housing subsidy will be provided to the eligible appointee. The current standard rate of income tax in Hong Kong is 15%.
