We are looking for a strong software developer to join our Hong Kong team as part of a global Fixed Income Federal Applications development team.

Our team develops and maintains highly-scalable systems that make use of modern and innovative technologies to support front-office pricing and risk analytics for global Fixed Income trading desks.

Our stakeholders include Traders, Quants, Market Risk and Finance. Currently we have work streams to enhance and consolidate our risk calculation capabilities across FX and Rates products, making use of the public-Cloud, distributed caches and our proprietary graph-calculation framework to achieve our business goals.

We are looking for highly technical developers who can deliver innovative solutions within our existing framework. The main technical challenge is to successfully scale up our infrastructure so that it can process large and complicated calculations as well as dealing with a system that produces a vast amount of data.

Our focus is to massively parallelise calculations across tens of thousands of CPUs and hundreds of terabytes spanning multiple physical hosts while keeping the overheads at a minimum.

Another part of the role is to help simplify and improve the reliability, availability and monitoring tools to help our DevOps and production management teams.

The role requires someone who is self-motivated, fast-learning and takes ownership of their solution and works throughout the full project life cycle from problem analysis to successful delivery to production.

A successful candidate will :

  • Work in an agile manner with development leads based in Hong Kong as well as colleagues across the global team in Hong Kong, Shanghai and London.
  • Understand our powerful graph-calculation framework and develop innovative solutions within that framework in Scala
  • Identify and implement performance and efficiency improvements in our calculations
  • Develop tools to automate and simplify existing desk workflows
  • Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

  • Strong academic record with Bachelor's level or above in a computational field like Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong software engineering skills in any language; Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in large scale server-side highly distributed applications
  • Interested in discussing complex technical ideas both verbally and written with both senior and junior members of the team
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial risk calculation and management system or trading tools development
  • Experience in Cloud computing (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
