You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

The Google Cloud Platform team helps customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Google’s global network, web-scale data centers, and software infrastructure.

We regularly answer questions about security, privacy, reliability, and compliance. As a Security Specialist for Security and Compliance, you'll utilize both your technical aptitude and excellent communication skills to address trust during frequent engagements with customers.

You'll periodically serve as a Google representative when liaising with regulators and the public as it relates to our Google Cloud solutions.

In this role, you'll work with Technical Sales teams as a security and compliance subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers.

You'll help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, explaining technical features, helping customers design architectures, and problem-solving potential roadblocks.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on areas of security, privacy, and regulatory compliance to Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Legal, and Policy teams.
  • Work with local Sales teams to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve blockers related to trust.
  • Assist policy personnel in technical conversations with policy makers, industry bodies, and other third-parties.
  • Provide feedback to product management in the development of trust-related features and support regional security and compliance accreditation projects.
  • Develop programs to enhance knowledge of trust throughout the Sales organization and serve as a public advocate of cloud computing at conferences, industry training, and related events.
  • Minimum qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Law or Public Policy, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of work experience in security solutions for enterprise B2B software or the security operations team within a consumer internet company.
  • 4 years of work experience in the field of technology-related security, privacy or policy.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Experience in technical sales or professional consulting across the fields of security, risk management, compliance, and security controls at the systems, network, and application level.
  • Experience with network security technology including intrusion monitoring, threat detection and prevention systems, firewalls, and DDOS prevention solutions.
  • Understanding of data protection technology including encryption, key management, data loss prevention, and hardware security modules.
  • Understanding of identity management systems including directories, access servers, authorization services, identity provisioning, and governance systems.
  • Ability to address CIO and CISO concerns about the security / compliance risks associated with moving workloads to the Cloud.
