Team Description

The Goldman Sachs Securities Lending desk facilitates client short selling activity through offering borrow liquidity. The desk is one of the largest borrowers of securities on the street adopting a coordinated global approach towards global as well as regional lenders.

Role within Securities Lending

The team is responsible for sourcing / offering borrow liquidity for both physical and synthetic markets, publishing timely market color to clients and managing the firm’s overall inventory.

The specific role that we have an opening for will be a hybrid role of both Supply / Demand :

Supply responsible for maintaining strong relationship with regional / global lenders, pursuing opportunities to expand / diversify our inventory sources and keeping the firm’s book efficient.

Demand responsible for overall client coverage, offering them borrow liquidity to facilitate their short selling flow and providing timely market color by identifying important themes / trends


Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast pace environment
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge in Equity products
  • Driven and goal-oriented, focused on success
  • Native in Japanese and fluent in English
  • Excellent communication and group presentation skill
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Financial knowledge
  • Statistical analysis and problem solving skills
  • Fluency in an Asian language a plus
