The role is based in the Hong Kong office as part of the Market Risk Management (MRM) department. The candidate would be responsible for APAC Prime and Cash Equities, reporting to the APAC Head of Equities Market Risk.
Be responsible for the MRM deliverables for APAC Prime and Cash Equities to implement risk control framework, including risk validation, analysis of risk exposure information and monitoring risks against limits.
Conduct reviews and provide signoffs for daily market risk reports at the business level.
Conduct reviews of weekly business level risk reports and various scenario reports
Provide detailed analysis, deep dives and consolidation of information for the relevant businesses.
Develop strong relationships with traders and senior business management in Hong Kong.
Provide effective challenge to traders and senior FO management.
Review new transactions and new business, including analysis of impact on risk and resolution of operational issues.
Support regulatory inspections, requests and changes which originate from APAC jurisdictions and global regulators.
Work closely with the Mumbai MRM team and have responsibility for their deliverables. This includes providing training, guidance and performing appropriate reviews of their work.
Support projects on risk and infrastructure improvements.
Educated to degree level, preferably in a numerate subject. An advanced degree in finance or a quantitative science and / or a professional qualification is desirable.
4+ years of total experience in Trading, Structuring or Risk Management with focus on Equities products.
A good understanding of global financial markets is required.
The candidate should have good computer skills. Experience of programming (VBA within Excel and / or C++) is preferred.
Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint are compulsory.

Detailed orientated, curious and keen to investigate issues with limited guidance from their manager;
Able to rapidly grasp, apply and explain detailed technical concepts; and
Able to produce high quality work, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
As the candidate will be dealing with both junior / senior members of the firm, he / she will need to have a professional manner with good interpersonal & communication skills, able to build relationships with a diverse group of both technical and non-technical resources.
The candidate should be fluent in English, both oral and written, including excellent presentation skills.
