This VIE position constitutes a very good entry point into a leading financial services group, and a valuable experience in Compliance department as well as in transversal & organization functions of the bank.

The candidate will carry out / participate in 2nd level control missions and will responsible for transversal tasks :

1. Contribute to the control mission preparation :

o Collect and analyze the documentation related to a mission in the preparatory phase,

o Identify and collect the risks, process, controls applicable to the mission

o Collect and analyze the Group requirements mainly based on Key group and local compliance policies & key incidents and external enforcements

o Document the preparatory phase

o Prepare the mission kick off presentation

This person may also contribute to control assessment for dedicated control mission. This assessment will be guided by a senior person.

2. Contribute to the transversal risk analysis (including control plan) a. On a monthly basis,

o Attend the monthly APAC policy update meeting to keep the team abreast of latest policy development

o Collect indicators related to compliance risk management (key incidents, enforcements, Worldwide 2nd level control results, regulatory trend / focus, internal audit mission results, policy updates on compliance risks)

o Perform a first level analysis of the material and prepare a monthly presentation deck for team sharing

o Prepare the meeting minutes and follow up the actions.

b. On a yearly basis, is involved in the annual control plan construction

o Prepare and consolidate all risk areas identified during the monthly risk analysis by business lines, compliance risks and countries

o Identify and consolidate existing processes and associated normative controls to be deployed in the region

o Participate to business and stakeholders’ interviews in the region to better qualify and prioritize the sensitive areas

o Prepare and circulate the meeting minutes related to the above interviews

o Input all the control plan information in the dedicated tool for Paris validation and maintain the tool update on a monthly basis.

c. Take an active role in the corrective action plan follow up in relation with the business :

o Perform the follow up of corrective action plan identified during 2nd level control missions (chasing the stakeholders and follow up of answers)

o Prepare the closure memo form

o Reporting on action plan status to all business stakeholders.

With the support and guidance of a senior member, the candidate will need to liaise with relevant stakeholders and to critically assess information received and to be able to articulate the information in a concise manner.

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Hong Kong is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment.

It will last 24 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.

Profile Required

You are graduated with a Master degree from Engineering or Business School or University with a specialization in Internal Controls or similar

Ideally you have 6 to 12 months internship experience in a financial institution as part of the graduation program (preferably in Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit, or Operations).

A first experience working abroad would be appreciated.

You are fluent in English; Communication is at the centre of what we do every day.

You have to be proficient in Excel including Macro / Word / PowerPoint.Xls (required to be able to compute data and perform some analysis on raw data)

You have the following job skills :

  • You must be able to articulate you ideas well in both verbal and written manner, in both English and French.
  • You have a strong understanding of controls, inclusive the types of controls. An appreciation of controls in a risk / cost vs.

    The Asia-Pacific Compliance division ("CPLE") has a local presence in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan (120+ staff in total).

    Our primary focus is to support Wholesale Banking activities. In practice, the scope of CPLE includes :

  • Monitoring the compliance with banking and financial regulations, including rules covering customer protection
  • Monitoring compliance with rules aiming at protecting the integrity of organised markets
  • Executing or execution monitoring of some regulatory declarations (transaction, shareholding threshold crossing, etc.)
  • Coordinating the KYC system ;
  • Supervising the AML / TF organisation, and declaring AML suspicion to the local relevant authorities;
