We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Workspace Business Strategy Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Regional Head of Workspace CS, this individual has responsibility for developing and maintaining effective relationships with business and function heads to ensure CS office workplace services support the business and its strategic objectives under the Future of Work program (FOW)
  • The main aim of the role is to identify opportunities to right size, right design and right location the various HSBC business’s overall workplace and promote the implementation of OpenWork / FOW across the office portfolio
  • The development of solutions or workplace strategies will be at building, portfolio and regional levels for specific businesses and functions
  • The role holder will be accountable for the identification and coordination of the broader CS teams needed to support the initiative.
  • The identification and programming of opportunities, projects and other local or regional business objectives that are needed to support the overall office workplace strategy and the implementation of OpenWork / FOW

  • The role holder will establish and maintain a point of contact concerning office workplace services as the SPOC for CS
  • One of the key objectives or measures for success of the role will be the identification of ways to add value to the business by providing proactive consultancy and expertise in CS across all disciplines and bringing CS concepts and solutions to the business management team to improve the running of the business.
  • The role holder will provide advice to the business heads on ways in which CS can support their business via the workplace through good understanding of how HSBC’s businesses work

  • Organising regular review meetings and developing key relationships with key internal stakeholders will be fundamental to the role
  • Through these relationships, the role holder will act as a point of escalation for the business where unresolved issues are impacting or are likely to impact on the banks business relating to the office workplace, and will actively work to ensure the overall quality of services provided meets requirements and ensuring on-going customer satisfaction across the wide range of CS services
  • Requirements

  • Knowledge / Qualifications Be knowledgeable of the external environment including : Main banking competitors; innovation and technologies;
  • regulatory environment; Key events in world / local news that could impact HSBC Expertise and knowledge in relation to management of variety of stakeholders within a real estate context would be an advantage though not essential Have the knowledge and expertise to design solutions that must comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements albeit that inherent in the role is the requirement to challenge our interpretation of these requirements to ensure that we take a commercial approach to their implementation High degree of expertise and knowledge across different CS disciplines in relation to office working environment and OpenWork / FOW High degree of expertise in change management within a complex corporate environment for FOW type initiatives Sound understanding of the way in which the Bank works Sound analytical, financial and accounting acumen Strong awareness of the business area(s) Jobholder is interacting with Strong awareness and understanding of HSBCs internal control and operational risk environment Sound project management experience

  • Experience 6 - 10 years of experience working on business consulting / Industry experience within large complex organisations.
  • Overall financial services industry knowledge with specific functional expertise ideal Experience managing real estate activities within a major corporate office environment and OpenWork / FOW roll out expertise an advantage Demonstrated ability to build, maintain and navigate the organisation using formal / informal networking skills Experience in managing others and directing work efforts to achieve objectives effectively and efficiently Demonstrated experience with organisational change and business transformation;
  • proficiency in Change Confidence to challenge advising and a willingness to speak up when it counts Strong intellect, but not academic in approach Excellent verbal and written communication skills and with experience in giving presentations to business stakeholders Problem solving and analysis skills Proven ability and commitment to high standards or customer service and customer relationship management Demonstrated results in delivering successful risk management and control processes across multiple functions

  • Skills Typical qualifications would include an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. MBA would be beneficial Strong organisational skills Strong communications skills Strong change management skills Strong analytical, business and commercial awareness Proactive and resilient in a dynamic and constantly changing environment Ability to build relationships through communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively Proven ability to prioritise competing demands, and handle ambiguity
