Job Description and Responsibilities

Team Summary

The Business Development Team works with cross-functional teams to grow the Visa business with clients providing business solutions, product and services, in order to increase payments volume and to drive Visa’s and our clients’ strategic goals.

What a Business Development Manager does at Visa :

1. Responsible for leading Visa’s engagement with clients :

a. Support the team to execute short and long-term strategic plans for clients and market. Ensure that such plans adhere to Visa mission statement of increasing clients’ profitability, strengthening the partnership within them, and also being in agreement with Visa Inc. overall strategy

b. Work with clients on ways to maximize profitability by offering advice on the development of target markets, product development, advertising, marketing and product mix

c. Deepen client engagement to drive new business opportunities and actively demonstrate Visa as the best partner for business growth

d. Broaden Visa’s relationship with client stakeholders in functions beyond the Cards business

e. Ensure alignment of goals with the respective internal stakeholders to ensure consistency in Visa’s client management mode

f. Increase penetration of Visa products and solutions with the clients

2. Achieve P&L and portfolio target

a. Support on managing the account planning process and deliver accurate sales and revenue forecasts

b. Drive new business and revenue growth opportunities

3. Understand the payment landscape of Hong Kong and keep abreast of industry trends

4. Support the team to implement Country strategies and achieve business goals

5. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Products, Marketing, Government Relations, Risk, Operations, Finance, etc.

to orchestrate the collective effort to optimize the effectiveness of Visa solutions to the clients

Why this is important to Visa

This role will be representing Visa in his / her interactions with the Client. Sharing Visa’s vision. You will be providing strategic and executional support to the Business Development team.

You will work closely with other core functions in Visa such as Product, Business Solutions, Government Relations, Client Support, Marketing, CyberSource, etc

Projects you will be a part of :

  • Develop account plans for key partners
  • Client pitches, presentations and business reviews
  • What you will need :

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience
  • Recognized degree preferably in Business Management, Economics, Finance
  • Basic knowledge of payments systems and card industry
  • Strong account management and problem solving skills
  • Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills
  • An ability to juggle multiple priorities, providing high quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • A high level of comfort working in a complex and often ambiguous environment
  • A willingness to learn and the ability to partner, communicate and manage / navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups
  • Above all, you will need to be a highly motivated self-starter, with a can-do attitude and ability to collaborate
  • Deal negotiation, structuring, execution is an advantage
  • Experience in pulling and analyzing data, preparing business presentations
  • Payments / Digital / Corporate Sales experience preferred
  • Fluent in Cantonese and English. Mandarin is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
