Job Description

At Manulife, enabling distribution through digital tools is an important driver of business growth and a superior customer experience.

We focus on attracting top talent and assigning them to some of our most important regional programs, and we are now recruiting an experienced and highly motivated individual to drive the successful implementation of our digital distribution tools across all our channels.

The successful candidate will be the regional product owner for all distributions tools and hence the candidate will drive the adoption and usage of digital delivery tools across all distribution channels.

The candidate will have to work closely with the Asia Portfolio Delivery team, the Chief Bancassurance officer, the regional Chief Agency officer and the Chief Distribution officer as well as the BUs to effectively develop and implement the digital distribution tools.

This program is of highest priority to Manulife in Asia and has high impact and visibility with senior executives and strong support for funding and resources where required.

Responsibilities :

  • Drive the regional platform core requirements and prioritization of key function and features for delivery; act as the custodian for the core requirements.
  • Drive user experience in conjunction with the UX teams to ensure effective voice of the customer / agent is reflected in the platform.
  • Ensure for each of the function a business justification / rationale is addressed.
  • Provide distribution tool usage and adoption expertise and support to the BUs.
  • Provide a clear position of the interdependencies, risks and opportunities within the Portfolio.
  • Establish the appropriate governance of the initiative to ensure the right results are delivered through the agreed mechanisms and thresholds.
  • Work with the functions to articulate and communicate benefits and outcomes of the digital tools and demonstrate what value the investment is providing.
  • Escalate decisions to relevant executives sponsors as required to delivery successful adoption targets.
  • Drive the distribution adoption and usage of digital delivery tools across all distribution channels.
  • Work with the BUs, Regional channel teams and Portfolio delivery teams to drive the development of the roadmap and adoption targets of digital tools for all channels in 2019 and beyond.
  • This will include the setting up of key performance indicators by channel, development of the plans to drive implementation and usage in every BU.

  • Key success factors and metric (what and when) to be developed and agreed for each implementation.
  • Share and build on the key success factors and problems encountered in each BU to make the process more effective as we implement in other BUs.
  • Help coordinate the training and supporting the adoption and usage efforts with the right communication, incentives and usage campaigns in every BU.
  • Knowledge / Skills / Competencies / Education :

  • Masters or High Ranking Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Front line experience is strongly preferred.
  • Exposure and experience with digital tools will be considered favourably.
  • Preferable experience in having shipped customer focused products in financial services or related industry categories.
  • Proven experience and ability to work with various stakeholders across BUs and to influence and drive change.
  • Strong Knowledge of distribution channels and agency and bank business processes.
  • Understanding of relevant Asia Pacific market and influential factors.
  • Ability to engage with and influence Business Representatives of all levels.
  • Communication, coaching / mentoring.
  • Promotes change.
  • Manage effectively internal and external relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to influence and drive outcomes.
  • Ability to act as a strategic thought leader for distribution transformation.
  • Ability to challenge constructively on requirements or assumptions whilst maintaining positive and professional relationships.
