Research Associate Analyst, China Thematic Strategy and New Materials Sectors

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our successful Equity Research team, based in our Hong Kong office. You will be working as a Research Associate Analyst supporting a senior analyst covering both the China Thematic Strategy and Commodities / New Materials sectors.

As a member of a highly rated research team, you will be involved in generating new ideas, discovering new companies, and writing thematic reports that assist in our clients’ investment decisions.

You will provide market analysis and financial modelling support to the team and help manage database information. Working on client presentations and briefings, you will also be involved in helping build our client base and revenue over time.

Given the coverage scope of the role, you’ll have the opportunity to explore highly detailed company analysis in addition to a wider, macro level view.

As the successful incumbent, you will have a tertiary qualification in a quantitative, economics / materials science / engineering / IT or similar discipline.

Prior experience in equity / macro strategy research or investment banking / consulting / accounting would be valued. Additional experience in the materials / commodities sector would be a plus.

You are numerically inclined, with financial analysis and accounting skills and be fluent in English and Mandarin. Strong skills in social media and computer programming would be valued.

Your exceptional communication skills will support you in building good relationships with clients and we appreciate you will enjoy communicating at all levels with the sales team.
