Responsibilities

Summary of the key purposes of the role :

The Prime Services - Client Analytics team is responsible for the management & improvement of available datasets on Prime Brokerage & Clearing business.

Its main mission consists of :

Business Performance Developing metrics and insights on business flows

  • Volumes, trends, and business dynamics analysis
  • Revenues & Risk performance view
  • Profit & Loss analysis
  • Capital and Scarce Resources allocation view
  • Explicit and Implicit Resources allocation view
  • Synthetic scorecards and business governance simplification
  • Business Line Productivity improvement by reducing complexity to access business metrics

  • Client ID cards & maintenance view
  • Efficiency quick wins for common client support tasks
  • The role will act as anchor point to enable data-driven business decisions and add value to SG Global Markets Equity Derivatives business line in APAC, by linking datasets for Sales & Trading desks connected to Prime Services (Delta-1, SFS, Execution & Electronic Coverage).

    Key responsibilities :

    Identification & Formalization Of Business Performance Measurements Needs

  • Contribute to identification of business needs to improve the level of professionalization of our client franchise
  • Formalize business requirements and make them understood by Sales & Traders, Senior Managers and technology teams
  • Coordination Of Datasets Implementation

  • Contribute to day-to-day coordination of datasets alignment and implementation with technology teams
  • Be responsible for day-to-day data quality with a focus on root-cause analysis to continuously add value to the business line
  • Business Proximity Dashboarding

  • Design holistic client activity views with connect-the-dots thinking
  • Develop internal visualization dashboards using modern data analytics tools in a time-sensitive environment by linking datasets across a wide range of asset classes and metrics (positions, volumes, NBI, risk, scarce resources)
  • Assist the head of Client Analytics team through preparation of presentations, management views
  • Be an active member of internal working groups
  • Profile required

    Previous Work Experience

  • Industry knowledge of Prime Services business, regulatory environment, Investment banking / financial services with focus on Sales & Trading functions for Execution and Clearing services
  • Experience and understanding of complex Trading and Risk environments, business performance metrics, systems and datasets
  • Capacity to deep-dive on data analysis with a connect-the-dots mindset to provide synthetic business views
  • Ability to manage large datasets and speak efficiently to IT teams
  • Be familiar with data management protocols and technologies
  • Qualifications required or desirable

  • Master / Bachelor degree in Finance / Science
  • Experience in financial markets (Trading or Risk, Front / Middle / Back Office or Finance)
  • Fluent English & French (optional)
  • Communication with trading desks and other functions
  • Solution-focused, service & results-oriented, proactive, with a sense of ownership
  • Aptitude for numbers with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to be able to work independently on multiple conflicting priorities and under pressure until completion
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, proactively share information and collaborates with others
  • Capacity to independently assess figures, propose solutions, provide synthetic views with clarity
  • Professional certification is a plus (CFA, FRM etc)

    Department Description

    The Prime Brokerage & Clearing group within Global Markets EQD provides a broad range of specialized execution and clearing services to hedge funds and asset managers clients such as securities lending, custody & settlement, margin financing, cash equity and listed derivatives execution and prime brokerage services, accounting and portfolio analytics.

    The successful candidate will work in the Prime Services - Client Analytics team that looks at these businesses and will play an important role in developing client analytics and business performance metrics.

    The team operates in close contact with APAC sales & trading desks and senior managers, as well as in coordination with global technology teams located in Paris, London, New York, Chicago and Hong Kong.
