Job Purpose :
The overall purpose of the role is to :
i) Enhance the reputation, profile and technical capability of CTA and other entities within the Charles Taylor Group
ii) Undertake loss adjusting and other assignments given by clients. The role will involve attendance at on and off-site meetings and regional travel, as required, in addition to office based duties.
iii) Assist senior personnel with the management of existing client relationships and the creation of new client relationships.
Key Accountabilities :
To generate business with local and regional market contacts to the best advantage of the Group.
To perform a loss adjusting function in respect of new claims and those already handled in the office in accordance with company and / or client service standards.
This will be predominantly for the property, casualty, technical and special risks ( PCTSR ) categories of the business but will include other areas as and when appropriate.
The work will involve, but not be limited to : -
Receiving and acknowledging new assignments;
Undertaking field investigations into those assignments as appropriate;
Preparing detailed reports to Principals and follow up correspondence to other parties as appropriate following the field investigation
Managing all aspects of the assignment and all stakeholders expectations to a successful outcome as quickly as possible
On behalf of our Principals, instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other experts as necessary
Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other correspondence
Calculating accurate reserves and agreeing settlement of claims, and preparing final reports accurately detailing the financial assessment, calculations and conclusions.
To assist in the development and improvement of the professional services undertaken by PCTSR, which will involve working closely with colleagues both within the Adjusting Team, but also within other entities / departments of the Group
To assist in and develop the effective marketing of CTA PCTSR Adjusting team including : -
Developing working relationships with existing clients;
Helping to identify and plan approaches to new clients;
Assist others in the Non-Marine team with their marketing functions;
Hosting and attending evening drinks and other social events;
Qualification / Knowledge and Experience
The preferred candidate will have the following skills / qualifications :
Ideally 5+ years (and a minimum of 3 years) experience of handling property and / or casualty claims including field investigations, negotiation skills and report writing skills
An established reputation in the Singapore general insurance / reinsurance market
A recognized international insurance qualification such as ANZIIF, ACII / FCII, ACILA / FCILA
