Position Summary :

NBA Asia, powered by its Global Content and Media distribution division, is rapidly growing sports and basketball fans, pioneering partnerships and dynamic revenue segments.
The New Media Distribution Professional will work under the Media Distribution, Sales Team Leader in the distribution and monetization of the NBA'
s international programming portfolio across all Media platforms in Asia Pacific. The position requires an ambitious and versatile media executive who will play a key role in augmenting the NBA'
s robust distribution strategy to drive new business and renewal negotiations.
Major Responsibility :
Working within the wider GCMD Asia team, the successful candidate will thrive on actively pursuing sales and business development initiatives across all forms of media.
Be skilled in identifying an opportunity, understanding the complexities, and driving the negotiations forward with accuracy.
Have knowledge of the NBA’s entire content portfolio to deliver optimum solutions. This will include, but not be limited, to broadcast (TV), digital (OTT) and NBA League Pass (DTC).
In creating partnerships that drive both revenue and strategic benefits you’ll need to conduct both financial and non-
financial analyses to strengthen the direction of the negotiation.
Lead working deal teams across different business lines to create and execute partnerships. This will require the successful candidate to be able to learn different parts of the NBA business to ensure all stakeholders are aligned.
Champion new forms of technology within the business and be prepared to validate them as strategic advantages to the media group going forward.
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with industry peers across the APAC region and globally.
Maintain market intelligence on technology trends and sports innovations globally.
Required Skills / Knowledge :
Proven track record in monetizing content through licensing negotiations and formation of partnerships.
A willingness and diligence to get hard things done. This role will require someone who can prepare effectively and then land at a preferred outcome.
You will be leading multiple conversations at the same time so having the ability to prioritize and manage your time to deliver exceptional service for all stakeholders will be key.
High attention to detail, you’ll be working on new areas for the NBA and will need to ensure accuracy, particularly in contracting.
Comfortable working in, and at times leading, a working group with a commercial outcome in mind.
Strong contacts in the international and Asia Pacific media and technology communities.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
4-6 years of work experience in the television and / or digital media industry.
Experience in sports and / or entertainment industry is ideal.
Ability to work with commercial agreements and a deep understanding of contracts, particularly licensing arrangements.
Understanding of digital media space and evolving trends.
Understanding of financial analysis and capability of modeling.
College degree a must.
