The Finance and Risk practice, part of our Financial Services Group, is seeking an Engagement Manager or a Principal to support our continued expansion, a strategic priority for the firm.

Finance and Risk is the largest of our specialized practices within Financial Services and is the cornerstone of Oliver Wyman’s reputation as a leader in finance and risk management.

    Key Responsibilities :

    Engagement Managers direct the day-to-day work of our consulting teams, working side-by-side with our clients. The Engagement Manager position offers excellent career and growth opportunities for talented, highly motivated professionals with notable prior experience.

    Engagement Managers are given the opportunity for rapid professional growth, to participate in entrepreneurial work, and to share in the success of the team.

    Initial responsibilities may include :

  • Leading teams of consultants in complex analysis and strategic problem solving including : problem framing, the use of advanced analytical techniques, results synthesis, and identification of client implications
  • Overseeing and guiding the consulting team as they develop hypotheses; manage data collection, model creation and analyses;
  • conduct primary and secondary research; creatively tackle information limitations; and surface insights

  • Supporting Partners in project execution through excellent project management including : work planning, managing work flow, upward management and coaching / developing more junior team members
  • Managing client relationships and networks, presenting to senior audiences, and working day-to-day with senior and mid-level clients
  • Effectively communicating issues and solutions in formal and informal settings, through written and verbal communication
  • Principal Additional Responsibilities :

  • Oversight of large or multiple client engagements work planning, communications, process and client management
  • Lead, day-to-day point-person for junior and senior-level client interactions
  • Guidance to team members in structuring analysis modules and client communications
  • Collaboration with Partners in production and delivery of major presentations
  • Effectively representing the respective Practice and firm to support business development and generate new client or project opportunities
  • Sharing team knowledge and best practices across the firm
  • Experience Required :

    Just as every client project is different, we recognize and value the diversity of backgrounds and skill sets for successful Engagement Manager / Principal candidates.

    We are seeking high-caliber individuals who want to join our winning team. Preference will be given to candidates with :

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm (or other similar organizations with project-based, team-oriented environments)
  • In-depth knowledge of topics in Finance and Risk gained through experience in the industry or in other Top Tier consultancy houses, prior experience with finance, risk, treasury and strategic planning related topics.
  • Skills and Attributes :

  • Track record of leading and managing teams, and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced, demanding environments
  • Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluency in English
