The Finance Manager of Asia Real Estate Asset Management will support the team by managing the property level financial reporting and operational activities of both direct and indirect real estate investments in Asia.

This role will receive both on-the-job training as well as coaching from senior members in the Asia and Global teams. Excellent exposure to real estate portfolio across regions and interaction with Manulife’s General Account and local business units, 3rd party fund managers, asset managers, joint venture developers and operators.

We are looking for someone with :

Degree holder in accounting and / or finance with accounting qualification of HKICPA or equivalent

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in real estate property accounting

Hands on experience in property accounting and financial reporting

Prior experience in Yardi Voyage is a definite advantage

Solid knowledge in IFRS, accounting standards and statutory requirements

Excellent presentation skills and communication skills, excellent in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin)

Good Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Yardi Voyage skills

On the job you will :

  • Review monthly property level financial statements and upload records to internal real estate accounting system Yardi;
  • Review monthly / quarterly property management report and financial status of each real estate investment; ensure financial records are current and accurate;
  • and investigate and rectify irregularities;
  • Review and prepare actual vs budget variance analysis and aging report;
  • Liaise with both external and internal stakeholders for reporting requirements;
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget, reforecast and business plan;
  • Assist in collecting operational and financial performance data from various units and generate reports for regular management reporting;
  • Coordinate year-end audit and liaise with external auditor;
  • Support the team on any other ad-hoc projects including but not limited to acquisitions, due diligence, asset redevelopment / upgrade and dispositions.
