In this technical role, the Manager, Forensic Services will conduct computer forensics analysis and onsite data collections of electronically-stored information (ESI) for use in eDiscovery matters and Computer Forensics investigations.

The Manager, Forensic Services will be trained in the use of proprietary and 3rd party collections and forensics software, and will receive training in strict Chainof Custody handling, evidence collections, and computer forensics, with opportunities to choose a forensic specialty in the future.

This role is part of a small and dedicated regional team, with staff members located in countries across APAC. A strong sense of teamwork and a desire to constantly excel are essential.


In this capacity, a Manager, Forensic Services will perform the following tasks :

  • Provide leadership and day-to-day management, resource allocation and mentoring, to the Asia Pacific Forensic Analyst and Evidence teams.
  • Under the direction of the Director, Forensic Services (Greater China) provide forensic and collection services in the Greater China and other country leads throughout Asia Pacific (and Worldwide if required).
  • Second for the Director, Forensic Services (Greater China) as required.
  • Author and develop local Forensic Standard Operating Procedures to mirror Global practices.
  • Author and develop local evidence handling Standard Operating Procedures to mirror Global practices.
  • Gather requirements from key stakeholders and work with the project team to provide a cost estimate and suitable data collection plan.

    Work in close collaboration with other technical and non-technical teams to facilitate forensic data collection, preparation and reporting.

    Work with Business Development / Marketing and present on forensic matters to small and large audiences as a subject matter expert.

  • During the E-Discovery process, provide technical support on any data issues.
  • Provide full forensic analysis of data away from the E-Discovery process (if required) and present findings in report format to clients.
  • Communicate with a wide variety of individuals, such as clients, lawyers, auditors and regulatory bodies. This element may require attendance at criminal and civil courts to present findings.
  • Responsibilities

  • University degree or equivalent experience preferred;
  • Prior experience in computer / digital forensics roles highly preferred;
  • Management experience preferred;
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in IT support, IT security, and / or end-user computer technology. Examples can include :

    Tier 2 or 3 help desk experience

    Computer hardware assembly / disassembly

    Windows, MacOS X, or Linux OS support experience

    PC repair, upgrading, or modding

    Basic scripting or coding (any language)

  • eDiscovery or Computer Forensics-related experience;
  • Strong interest in eDiscovery, Computer Forensics, IT Security and Technology;
  • Able to travel on relatively short notice;
  • A proven track record in corporate digital forensic in all elements of scoping, providing cost estimates, performing data collections and data processing;
  • Experienced in providing Expert Witness work for Court;
  • Experience of using EnCase or equivalent essential. Experience of NUIX is desirable;
  • Strong understanding of networks and email solutions;
  • Good academic background and highly IT literate;
  • Adaptable and capable of building strong business relationships. Experience of working with business stakeholders across multiple business functions including presenting to large audiences;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident, articulate and professional;
  • Proven ability to explain complex commercial, data and analytical issues in non-technical language producing high quality reports and business correspondence;
  • Highly developed listening skills; can clearly understand client needs and develop credible business value propositions;
  • A positive self-starter attitude, determination to succeed and commitment to teamwork are essential;
  • Excellent problem solving skills;
  • Fluent verbal and written Cantonese and Mandarin, business-level verbal and written English are required;
  • This position will require after-hours and weekend work. Regional travel will be required, in line with business needs.
