Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management.

The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks.

All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Credit and Risk Manager AMH .

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support CRO, AMH WPB in managing the risk profile and loan impairment of the cards portfolio
  • Proactively manage the credit policy framework and ensure it’s updated in line with economic and portfolio trends, regulations and global / regional policies and guidelines
  • Develop and embed risk strategy pertaining to credit cards to build a long term sustainable portfolio within risk appetite
  • Administer the dissemination of credit policies. Recommend and implement new policies or policy changes. Coordinate with IT and operations to implement policy if necessary
  • Leverage data, analytics, models, bureau and systems to drive automated and timely actions for initial approval, proactive cross sell and exposure reductions
  • Ensure regional compliance with all internal and regulatory controls in the dynamic local regulatory environment
  • Develop and manage MIS to reflect delinquency, loss, vintage, profitability, new acquisition trend, score performance and possibility to increase profit from new and existing customers
  • Analyse and identify potential areas of improvement in credit loss, product offers, customer segments, credit procedures, etc.
  • Embed the NFR framework holistically to better manage our non-financial risks in card business
  • Use of analytics to make 2LOD oversight more effective and efficient and work closely with the Data and Analytics Team to implement new models for risk management purposes
  • Escalate credit cards emerging risk issues timely and ensure appropriate mitigating actions are devised and implemented swiftly engaging all key stakeholders
  • Requirements

  • Degree holder with 10+ years of relevant professional experience in retail credit management, accounting, Retail Banking & Wealth Management, etc.
  • Leadership role for 5+ years, Credit Card risk management experience is preferable
  • Well-developed analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis using statistical or database packages (e.g. SAS, SQL or Excel)
  • Highly motivated mind-set, with the ability to work collaboratively with various Customer Groups and external parties (including regulators) to deliver assignments on time
  • Strong analysis, decision-making and risk management and evaluation skills
  • Solid communication, good negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently under tight timeline
  • Excellent communication in English
