The appointee will initially be assigned to the Learning Services Team of the University Library. The Learning Services Team is committed to providing a wide range of library services to support teaching and learning activities to students.
Major duties include (a) promoting and organising projects and library events, including special and ad-hoc projects; (b) preparing and maintaining social media and web presence;
c) assisting in design planning and maintenance of e-learning materials; (d) providing assistance in conducting online workshops and learning activities;
e) supervising staff and student helpers; (f) recording and compiling usage statistics; (g) handling various library-related enquiries;
h) attending counter duties and roving services; and (i) performing other tasks as assigned. Evening and weekend shift duties are required.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree; (ii) at least 2 years' post-qualification work experience, preferably in academic libraries;
iii) work experience in planning, organising and promoting learning activities; (iv) good working knowledge of elearning applications;
v) good working knowledge of web publishing; (vi) good knowledge of video making and editing; (vii) a good command of English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
viii) the ability to work independently, collaboratively with other colleagues and as part of project teams; and (ix) excellent interpersonal and presentation skills combined with a customer-focused approach.
Good knowledge of graphic design will be advantageous.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
