Position Description :
This Asia Trade Compliance Director will join the regional Logistics and Trade Compliance team reporting to Regional Logistics and Trade Compliance Director and lead Asia Trade Compliance Team, effectively monitoring and oversight of company business and logistics activities in compliance with relevant laws, trade compliance regulations, and policies.
The incumbent will lead a team including local trade compliance team in each country. The main activities will include setting up the detailed guidelines together with local and regional teams for local product labeling, testing and all trade compliance activities, providing guidance to local and regional teams in the form of monitoring frameworks, direction, and oversight of in-country teams responsible for implementation of trade compliance activities within their country.
Essential Duties And Job Functions
The individual will work closely with colleagues within the Global Trade Compliance organization and across different functions, including key partners such as IT, Legal, Retail Operation, Retail, Government Affairs, Finance Compliance and Internal Control, among others, in order to leverage information from relevant systems for identification and address of potential compliance-related issues.
A key goal of this position is to help drive standardization and consistency in our approach to compliance-related monitoring in Asia and industry best practices are shared and adopted across geographies and functions.
Key responsibility of this position also include the following :
Supporting the company to develop and implement a robust Asia Trade Compliance strategy, which is fit for purpose and ensures the company meets the required legislative, contractual and group requirements.
Identification, implementation and monitoring of the company product testing / labeling risk reduction strategy and initiatives across all levels of the business
Drive for APAC process enhancement for the compliance with Import and Export functions, including pursuing security compliance accreditation (AEO).
Regulatory Monitoring and Intelligence, regularly check with government authorities and local product testing partner to get the latest update of rules and regulations and ensure the compliance
Clarify region regulatory requirements with Richemont Legal
Compliance requirement gap analysis for brand new market or Maison market launch
Formulate local product label audit plan (internal & external)
Consolidate APAC non-conformity report and investigate the root cause
Ad hoc incident investigation, risk analysis & implement corrective action
conduct training with local brands per RTC training plan including PTC Directive roll out / update Preparation of trade compliance training material and session for the region
Responsible for SAP MDM Compliance label project for new market & new Maison in an existing market, initiate the
Initiate, propose and monitor any product labeling changes with impact on existing MDM Compliance label solution
Response to Local / Regional functions & local / Regional brands' enquiries
Regularly update & review all APAC countries product compliance guidelines.
10+ years of experience in Trade Compliance and Product Compliance or advisory role, with a background / expertise in trading / product labeling and Customs regulation, import / export regulations in Asia
Deep regulatory knowledge, implementation experience navigating regulatory expectations of compliance programs
Expert understanding of Import &Export, Customs and HS code classification rules or a strong interest in learning
Highly organized and detail oriented
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written English, Chinese or 3rd language in Asia a plus
Team lead / management experience a plus
