We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Operations, ASP International .

Principal responsibilities

The purpose of the Head of Operations, ASP International role is to be responsible for :

Governing and leading the Operations teams across the ASP network footprint in the effective operation, delivery and execution of Global Operations strategy (Sri Lanka & Maldives, Bangladesh, Philippines, Japan, Thailand, Korea, New Zealand, Mauritius, Taiwan, Vietnam and Macau).

Act as Deputy, when required, to the Regional Head of Operations ASP for coverage of Global Operations and other regional governance committees

Providing a cost efficient proposition for the network markets business lines, ensuring that the Opex cost of the network markets in the region moves towards the global benchmark target, whilst driving up customer advocacy and realising lower operating costs.

Lead the execution of the globally designed Business Services transformation programmes in the network markets in ASP in line with Operations strategy aspirations

Ensuring all Operations areas - including those in the Global Service Centres (GSCs) for the network markets are consistently controlled, governed and executed in accordance with the Operations Blueprint, design principles and global service catalogues

The Head of Operations, ASP International is the oversight and governance lead for all Operations Business Partners in the ASP network markets and will ensure strong alignment with those business partners while maintaining the global Operations delivery model.

Knowledge

Outstanding understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviors, processes and objectives.

Very strong knowledge of the external environment regulatory, political, competitors etc.

Outstanding knowledge of Operations / Business Services functionally, operationally and financially.

Experience

Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Executives across the Group.

Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments.

Strong analytical background and proven ability in analytical rigour, including being able to contextualise data into business activities and conclusions.

Proven ability in successfully designing and implementing large-scale, complex global / regional change initiatives.

Business Services or very strong management experience.

Internal control / audit or process re-egineering experience is preferred.

Evidence of successfully managing financial plans.

Successful experience in developing and retaining critical talent and building an effective leadership team.

A broad understanding of the strategies of the Global Businesses and Functions (desirable).

A demonstrable record of managing large scale operational activity and P&L across multiple countries

Proven leadership skills in a changing environment.

Strong experience in managing and motivating large teams.

Able to demonstrate actions and an understanding in working in the best interests of the customer.

Experience of dealing with regulatory bodies at a senior level.
